Exactly a week ago we partied my birthday very spontaneously at the Bar Milano. In best Italian tradition we got our first round of Negronis – mixed classical with gin, vermouth rosso and Campari on ice and garnished with orange slices. The famous Aperitivo is served with small delicacies – such as 24 months matured Prosciutto di Parma and mortadella by Ennio Pasquini from Bologna, freshly decorated on the famous bread Il Pane di Milano. Not only delicious but very helpful, since my Negroni Sbagliato, made with Prosecco instead of gin, was served in the biggest glas, I ever got for my birthday. When a huge group of Italians left the place, we could admire also the interior design by architect Thilo Reich and design consultant Thanos Karampatsos which is held in the decent, elegant understatement of Milan. The massive counter is made of Italian marble, the pillows on the cozy bench are designed by Rianna + Nina and hand-crafted from silk scarves and fabrics by famous fashion designers such as Dries van NotenMissoni and Emilio Pucci. Thanks to our italian friend Caroline, who recommended the place, we found a wonderful piece of Milan in Berlin and will check out the paninis and carpaccio e funghi today.
